Making New York City a Little Cooler
NYC Cool Roofs
Yesterday Korth and Shannahan’s lead estimator, Tom Fisher, participated in the NYC Cool Roofs initiative. Tom said it sure was hot but could have been worse without Cool Roof’s reflective coating. All in all, it was a great experience and a good opportunity to get him painting again.
The NYC °CoolRoofs initiative encourages building owners to cool their rooftops by applying a reflective white coating that reduces energy use, cooling costs, and carbon emissions. The program supports New York City’s goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 30 percent by 2030, as outlined in PlaNYC – the City’s comprehensive sustainability plan.
Korth and Shannahan use several environmentally safe coatings so they appreciate the value of energy conservation and support the NYC Cool Roofs initiative.
