Color Selection and Wallcovering
Hello friends and colleagues and welcome to our blog. This week we would like to share some helpful tips for color selection and wallcoverings.
Our first rule of thumb is, when it comes to wall coverings, make sure you really love the covering before you buy it. Sometimes, selecting something just to hanging it can make more work for you sooner if you end up not totally loving it. Removing wallpaper is very time-consuming and the walls may require plaster repair afterward. It also helps that the person working with you on the selection of wall covering is the same person who is helping you select the colors for the trim, ceiling, etc.
When selecting colors, if you don’t know where to start, consider a color consultant. It saves you time and frustration. And, a good consultant, like ours, is in many homes every year, so they know what is in and what is out. Always asked your painter to apply paint samples on the wall before you make your selection. We understand it’s best if you live with the actual paint color on the wall and see it in all light conditions before you can really be sure if it’s right for you. Once you’ve selected your colors it is best to put it in writing even if it’s just an email. Experience has shown us this makes a difference in the end.
Painting doesn’t have to be a painful process. It can be one of the most exciting parts of good home maintenance when your painter has the experience to know what is right for you.
