Used Korth & Shanahan for carpentry work to repair my window sashes and trims. Did great work, were very professional and were a pleasure to deal with from start to finish. Will be having them back to paint my house in a few weeks too.

Our painting project was well planned before the work began. The crew arrived on the scheduled date and stayed until the work was completed (within the estimated time frame). The project manager and painters were professional, and the work (having done considerable painting ourselves) exceeded our expectations.

Alex worked on three carpentry projects and did a great job. They were three tough fixes, but he did it quickly and professionally. Korth & Shannahan gets my highest rating.

"We have a cedar house with an extremely steep and high cedar shake roof, which makes external painting a serious challenge (i.e., 40 and 60 foot ladders, etc.). K&S worked with us to customize stains and colors, and handled all of the complicated high level work with flawless precision. In addition, they handled basic carpentry when trim and other items needed to be replaced, and coordinated with another contractor we had retained for some more complicated carpentry at our front entrance. The team is professional and courteous, and they cleaned up completely before leaving the site each evening. All work was done carefully and to the highest standards. No runs, drips, etc. K&S is not inexpensive, but if you truly care about the quality of the work, they are a bargain. I highly recommend them".

"The team of Korth & Shannahan managed to almost overall everything in our 1903 Dutch Colonial home. I started with Korth & Shannahan because the plaster ceiling in the living room began falling down. I could see K & S truck at my neighbor's house so I talked with the foreman to see if his crew could help. The painters quickly covered the plaster that night and the next day Will met with me to see what could be done. From there, the projects took form, and a very tired, old house was reinforced, newly sealed and brightly painted! The projects included: exterior shingles repaired and house painted; new windows installed (they worked with me in deciding the brand and line); a new wood shingle roof was built; interior ceilings and rough plaster walls were smoothed out and painted; trim & walls through out the interior house were painted; and their carpenter designed the repair to the second floor steps and rails. Their foreman, painters and carpenters all worked very well with us. I felt Will's teams were highly skilled and easy to communicate with. The foreman on the jobs made sure each and every project was correct before anyone got started. There was always a supervisor or crew chief available. Will checked the work in progress during all of the jobs. And I always knew when crews or a single workman was arriving and they all arrived on-time. But most importantly, I felt, everyone was very respectful of being and working in our home. (i.e., no one let the dog out by accident!) To wrap up our review, I would say, one other important remark is their billing. The original estimates and final invoices were all very clear and thorough so we had no surprises at the end of the each and every job".

"Always responsive, Korth & Shannahan again came through with a pre-Christmas ceiling leak emergency. The ceiling was patched and repaired quickly, neatly and professionally. I am always extremely satisfied with their work!"

"I contacted Korth and Shannahan to clean and re-stain the cedar siding on my mid-century modern. It was estimated that the the cedar siding had not been maintained for 15 to 20 years. Beginning with Mr. Will Korth and trickling down to his entire team, the level of customer service was second to none. The foreman on the job, Alex, listened to and considered all of my concerns. I was consulted on every detail so that the job was certainly a collaborative effort. At the beginning of the job my wife and I were not sure about the color of stain we wanted (due to the lack of maintenance the cedar was relatively dark) and Alex tested about a dozen different colors and finishes. When we finally made our decision and the wood was washed and stained we were extremely pleased with the outcome. Lastly, the carpentry work the team did was possibly the most impressive job of all. We had woodpecker damage in a few visible areas of the home where the old cedar had to be replaced with new. As previously mentioned the old cedar had a very dark tone to it and my wife and I were more than a little concerned that the new wood would stand out since that wood was significantly lighter in color. Again Alex worked his magic by figuring out a way to darken the new wood so that when the stain was applied it matched the color of the old wood. We would highly recommend this company to all our friends and family".
